With Spring just around the corner, this is traditionally a popular time of the year for home owners to list their property for sale, so I’ve put together a few handy “inexpensive” tips (below) that will help you attract the best offers.
- Firstly, let’s start at the front. Make sure your grass and edges are cut neatly, garden beds, trees and plants are all trimmed, weed free and add new garden mulch if needed.
- It’s a great idea to freshen things up with a fresh coat of paint in places like the front fence, front door and surrounds, the front steps, window sills, side fences and quite often the gutter fascia needs a coat too.
- Make sure your driveway and any paths are clean and any oil stains removed.
- Sometimes our gutters start growing grass and while this looks great in the garden it’s not a good look in your guttering! So make sure these are all clean and tidy. (if you aren’t confident climbing ladders, ask someone else to do this job for you).
- Give your house bricks or weatherboards etc.. windows and any other part of the front of the house a good wash and hose off. You’ll be surprised just how much difference this will make!
- Last but not least, if your letterbox is located in a prime spot where everyone will clearly see it as they first come upon your house, it’s a great idea to replace it with a new one to really set the tone right from the buyers first point of contact.
Well I hope these handy tips have helped and look out for more in the coming weeks.
