For people travelling towards Hobart from the Northern Suburbs  you may have noticed there has been some delays with Hazel Brothers starting construction on the much awaited Brooker Highway upgrades at Elwick, Goodwood and Howard Road intersections.

Stage one has started and is expected to take the remainder of February and will consist of the following:

• • Making the Howard Road roundabout smaller to allow space for roadworks on the river side of the highway
  • Joining the existing highway with the smaller roundabout

Then in March the main works to the highway will commence which unfortunately will cause some traffic delays for commuters in peak hour and will consist of the following works:

• • Constructing new Elwick and Goodwood Road sections to join these roads together
  • Building a new carpark at Elwick Racecourse
  • Constructing a new section of Renfrew Road
