Glenorchy takes the CROWN this year

Montrose/Rosetta

Everybody knows, I’ve always been a great supporter of Hobart’s northern suburbs and especially the city of Glenorchy, where the property market for many years has shown steady growth for home owners and excellent rental yields for investors too, and still has very reasonable median house prices for those buyers trying to get into the property market. There is an abundance of essential services all within close proximity of the CBD with some wonderful parks, sporting clubs and many other great attractions and community programs keeping this city heading in the right direction into the future.

GLENORCHY has been named the Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) Sustainable City for 2016, taking out the major honour for the second year running. The prize, which was presented at a function attended by 76 community leaders and volunteers at Triabunna in August, follows the city’s win in the same awards last year, as well as receiving three national sustainability awards in November 2015. Other major award winners were Stanley (KAB Tasmania Tidy Town Award) and Randalls Bay (KAB Tasmanian Clean Beach Award).

The KAB Council Sustainable Cities’ program recognises outstanding examples of how cities are implementing practical projects that help local communities achieve an efficient and sustainable future. “As published in this month’s issue of the Glenorchy Gazette”.
